PLEASE NOTE: As of October 1st, 2005 the new membership application process has changed.  All new member applications must include a completed “New Member Orientation and Checkout" form.  New member applications received without this completed form attached will not be processed and will be returned to sender.  Current members need only to complete and return a completed Memebership Application form no later than April 30 of the current year to renew your membership.

Membership Application Instructions

• You must be 18 years or older to be eligible for club membership.
• Sponsorship: Two (2) sponsors are required in accordance with club by-laws.  Sponsors must be current club members.   If you do not have sponsors, please refer to Sanner’s Lake Membership guidance below.
• All new members must submit a completed “New Member Orientation and Check Out” form along with their membership application.  It is the responsibility of the sponsors to take the new member to the club and give them a short tour of the grounds and explain the club rules and regulations.
• Membership in the NRA is not mandatory, but we request all new members join the NRA in order to keep our affiliation strong. The club must maintain a 51% membership in the NRA.
• You must completely fill out the membership application and mail it along with a completed “New Member Orientation and Check Out” form, a check (or money order) for $125.00, and a self-addressed, stamped, business size envelope. If you decide not to include the self-addressed stamped envelope, add an additional $1.00 processing fee to the membership amount.
• Once your membership application has been received and processed you will be mailed your new membership card, a copy of the Sanner’s Lake Sportsman Club rules and regulations, and your vehicle sticker(s).
• The club offers no refunds or rebates once you have been accepted as a member.
• All club memberships expire 30 April of the current membership year. New members joining between 01 October and 30 April of any membership year will be valid through 30 April of the following membership year.  Current members not renewing prior to 30 April of the current membership year can renew anytime up until the end of the next membership year. Members that do not renew within the next membership year will be required to resubmit for membership with a sponsorship requirement.

Sanner’s Lake Membership

In recent years increasing numbers of individuals and family’s requesting membership into the club are typically new to the area and/or the shooting sports in general. This presents a challenge for obtaining the required (2) sponsorships in order to become members. Membership screening for Sanner’s Lake Sportsman’s Club is somewhat informal, but it does require that each applicant be screened for his or her ability to safely handle and operate firearms, and be assessed for good moral character, not the least of which is having no criminal background.  

The first step in this process relies heavily on current club members who choose to sponsor new member applicants, followed by validation by the club Secretary and President. Some things to consider in your effort to gain sponsorship into the club; it is important in making yourself available and building essential report with membership. A great opportunity for you to accomplish this is to participate and support the clubs many organized shooting events and activities, which are usually open to the public. This provides you the ability to see what the club has to offer, and an opportunity to demonstrate your willingness to not only participate in, but also  provide support for club activities. We are not a “range” with paid employees. Activities and club infrastructure are totally membership supported. 

How long this method or process may take I cannot individually speculate. I will say you should have no expectation that it will result in sponsorships within a weekend or two in most situations. In cases where sponsorships appear to be elusive after significant effort on your part, you may contact me to make other arrangements as a last resort.
